Extension of transition period for compliance with home and community-based settings requirements

On May 9, 2017, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an Informational Bulletin: Extension of Transition Period for Compliance with Home and Community-Based Settings Criteria (PDF). In this bulletin, CMS announced that states have until March 2022 (three additional years) to bring their systems into compliance with the HCBS settings requirements.
