The Minnesota State Advisory Council on Mental Health is a 30 citizen group, appointed by the governor, representing consumers, family members, advocates, providers, elected officials, state department representatives and others from around the state.

Minnesota State Advisory Council on Mental Health and Subcommittee on Children’s Mental Health
The Council and Subcommittee meet at the Elmer L. Andersen Human Services Building at 540 Cedar Street in St. Paul, MN 55101 the first Thursday of each month. The Council and Subcommittee have work groups that precede the full meetings.

Members are paid a $55 per diem if not otherwise paid for their time. Reimbursements for mileage and other expenses are available.

Terms on the Council and Subcommittee are four years. The Governor appoints Council members, and the Council Chair appoints Subcommittee members.
