If you are enrolled in a health plan:

You must go to doctors, dentists and other providers who are in your health plan’s network for most services.

  • • Your health plan’s member services staff can help you find a provider.
  • • If you need to see a specialist, call your health plan and ask if you need a referral before you go.
  • If you are not in a health plan:

You can go to any doctor, dentist or other provider who accepts Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) fee-for-service coverage.

  • • You can find providers using the online MHCP Provider Directory. It lists providers who accept MHCP including Medical Assistance, Minnesota Family Planning Program and other MHCP programs.
  • • You also can call the Minnesota Health Care Programs Member Helpdesk.
