2016 Member Renewal Process Is Being Extended

MHCP is allowing Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare members with January renewals more time to complete the process. Many members who were enrolled in a managed care organization will have coverage through MHCP fee-for-service for January. We posted information for providers about this on the web page Provider Information about 2016 Member Renewal Extension.

If members have questions about the renewal process, they can call the Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) Member Help Desk at 651-431-2670 or 800-657-3739 or go to the Renewing eligibility page.

If a member indicates he or she is eligible for a Minnesota Health Care Program and is not sure whether he or she is enrolled in a managed care organization (MCO), please use EVS or MN–ITS to verify the member’s eligibility.

Pharmacy providers: If the member indicates he or she is enrolled in an MCO but the MCO claim is denied, you may try to submit your claim to MHCP; the member may be part of the group that has fee-for-service (FFS) coverage for January.

2016 Health-Plan Selection

Many members you serve will have a new health plan on Jan. 1, 2016. To save your time and ensure you are able to provide services to your patients, DHS asks that you contact the managed care organization (MCO) or their contracted pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) directly for the quickest and most accurate eligibility information. DHS does not have members’ specific health plan information regarding coverage of services and drugs and help desk staff will be available for only limited hours over the holidays.

Pharmacy providers: BIN/PCN information for processing claims is available on the members’ ID cards or on the Managed Care Pharmacy Identification page on the DHS website.
