The DHS Member and Provider Services unit coordinates training for fee-for-service providers enrolled to serve recipients of Minnesota Health Care Programs. This page is updated regularly to reflect upcoming provider workshops.

Please Note

  • • Each workshop has a maximum number of seats
  • • When a workshop is full, it automatically closes and is no longer listed
  • • Registration will close three (3) days prior to free workshop dates or seven (7) days prior to paid workshop dates

  • Types of Trainings

    Webinars

    MHCP offers many workshops through webinar as well as in person. Webinar attendees will:

  • • connect to the webinar from their own computers and do not need special hardware or software
  • • communicate with the presenters and others in the audience using the chat feature available as part of the webinar session

  • Attending Webinar:
    Participants need the following to attend the webinar sessions:

  • • internet access
  • • speakers/headset

  • MHCP will send an email invitation upon registration for the webinar session. The email invitation will:

  • • be sent upon registration and as a reminder, 2 hours before the session begins
  • • contain handouts, instructions and the links to prepare your computer and connect to the session

  • Register for each webinar following directions in the service training workshops listed above.

    Live In–Person/Lab

    MHCP offers live in-person/lab training workshop sessions in both computer laboratory (lab) sites and group presentations depending on the training curriculum.

    Computer Lab sessions offer the attendee the ability to participate using a computer (provided). An instructor leads attendees in navigating, locating information and using the MHCP Provider website, other related website pages and Internet based applications including, but not limited to, the MN–ITS application. Participants are welcome to bring problem claim issues for additional help from the instructor at the end of the session.

    MHCP provides training locations and parking information in each session detail.

    Parking & Assigned Parking Passes (live in-person/lab only)

  • • For PCA Steps for Success, parking is not provided
  • • For MN–ITS workshops and Claims Clinics, DHS will assign you a space in one of our visitor parking locations and email your parking information and a parking pass about three days before your scheduled workshop. Shuttle service runs to and from building and parking location every 15 minutes as scheduled. You must display your parking pass. DHS is not responsible for vehicles, including those parked in the wrong location or parked without a visible parking pass

  • Special Needs

    If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in a workshop, contact DHS Member and Provider Services. We will contact you by email to verify your request. Please note that it may take up to four (4) weeks for us to arrange for an ASL interpreter.
