MinnesotaCare premiums
How do I know the amount of my MinnesotaCare premium? You can also call MinnesotaCare’s automated phone system (PDF) to find out the amount and due date of your next premium: Will my coverage start before I pay my premium? How do I pay my premium? You can pay online by checking account withdrawal or credit card. Online payments made by 5 p.m. on a business day are credited that day. Online payments made after 5 p.m. on a business day, on weekends or holidays are credited the next business day. Be sure to allow enough time for your premium to arrive by the due date on your bill. Do not mail cash. Write your case number on your check or money order and mail it with the stub from your premium notice to: DHS PO Box 64834 St. Paul, MN 55164-0834 You may pay your premium at the MinnesotaCare office in downtown St. Paul. You may pay by cash, check or money order. If you pay by cash, you must have exact change. County offices do not take MinnesotaCare premium payments.
You can find out if your premium payment has been received by calling the automated phone system at the numbers listed above. What if I do not pay my premium? If your coverage has started and you do not pay your premium, your coverage will end. If your coverage ends, you may not qualify for MinnesotaCare for four months unless you have “good cause” for making your payment late. Good cause is when something that was out of your control happened that made you unable to pay your bill on time. Contact your worker if you want to claim good cause. Can I pay premiums in advance?
