Overview
This page provides an explanation of maximum staffing hours and a description of the fields in these categories in the Rate Management System (RMS) tool.
Maximum staffing hours
Certain service categories have a maximum number of staffing hours that can be entered into RMS.
For the following service categories, the combined number of staffing hours entered into RMS may not total more than 24 hours of staffing per day:

Fields
DHS recommends gathering the following information before entering data into RMS.

Home management | The six services listed under home management are: There is also a home management notes box in which the user can enter information related to the person’s services. Information you needHours per day, hours per week and/or hours per month the person needs each service For example, if a person needs homemaking services one hour per week, but one time per month the person also has homemaking services for four hours for heavy cleaning, enter “1” in the hours per week field and “4” in the hours per month field. If entering information in more than one input field per service, do not duplicate hours. If the person does not need a service, do not enter information into the input fields. |

Note: Select yes or no to indicate whether the person uses a summoning device. REQUIRED: Explanation and calculation details for non-framework rate | Enter a narrative to describe the non-framework rate. Information you needDescription of why the person needs a non-framework rate The only appropriate reason to use a non-framework rate is for DHS-approved exceptions. If the person does not have a DHS-approved rate exception for the service, they should be at the framework rate and should not be manually banded.
