In October 2024, DHS started the transition from personal care assistance (PCA) and the Consumer Support Grant (CSG) to Community First Services and Supports (CFSS). For more information, refer to CFSS Manual – Transition from PCA and CSG to CFSS.

Personal care assistance (PCA): Services to help people with day-to-day activities in their home and community to help a person maximize their independence.

Community First Services and Supports (CFSS): Program that replaces PCA and the Consumer Support Grant. CFSS offers additional options for people to meet their needs flexibly.

The CFSS Policy Manual will include both PCA and CFSS policy until the transition from PCA to CFSS is complete.
