19.27 Sanction Timelines and Provisions

The policies in this section apply to all participants.

Every month that a participant fails to comply with a requirement is counted as a separate occurrence of non-compliance.

  • · If both parents in a 2-parent family, however, are out of compliance in the same month, that counts as 1 occurrence of non-compliance for the household.
  • · The count of occurrences restarts once a participant cures their sanction.
  • · For participants with dual sanctions, see 19.54 (Dual Sanctions).
  • The number of occurrences result in different sanction policies.

    1st- 6th Consecutive Occurrences in Sanction.

    What Sanction Is Imposed.

    A 5% sanction of the MFIP cash portion received by the assistance unit.

    Timelines for Curing the Sanction.

    If the participant cures their sanction on or before the 15th of the month in which the sanction is being imposed:

    · The sanction is lifted and the participant’s grant for that month is fully restored.

    If the participant cures their sanction after the 15th of the month in which the sanction is being imposed:

    · The sanction remains for that month and is lifted the following month.

    Curing the Sanction.

    Once a participant cures their sanction, the sanction count will be reset to zero.

    Workforce One.

    Place sanctioned participants in “Holding – Sanctioned”.
