STATE RESIDENCE - INTERSTATE PLACEMENTS

Minnesota residents who temporarily enter out of state facilities remain Minnesota residents. People placed in Minnesota facilities by agents of other states remain residents of the placing state. An agent of the state is any organization authorized to make placements for a state under that state's law.
SNAP:
People residing in a facility are residents of the state in which the facility is located.
