EXCLUDED TIME - CASH ASSISTANCE

Excluded time is primarily used to determine when a county or Tribal Nation becomes financially responsible for costs associated with certain treatment services. Excluded time can also affect the establishment of state residence. See 0011.06.03 (State Residence – Excluded Time). Excluded time does not affect the responsibility of a county or Tribal Nation to receive or process applications, or to provide ongoing servicing of public assistance programs.
Excluded time facilities and services include:
- Hospitals
- Nursing homes
- Halfway houses
- Foster homes
- Maternity homes
- Domestic violence shelters. Also see 0011.06.03 (State Residence - Excluded Time), 0011.06.09 (State Residence – 30 Day Requirement)
- Correctional facilities
- Regional treatment centers
- Semi-Independent Living Services (SILS) programs
- Supervised board and lodging facilities
- Facilities based on an emergency hold
- Placements in training and habilitation programs (including a rehabilitation facility or work or employment program)
- Day training and habilitation programs
- Assisted living services
- Integrated community supports
- Day support services
- Placements with an indeterminate commitment, including independent living
