Self-paced online course: CMDE and ITP Overview

Description

This course covers:

  • An overview of the comprehensive multi-disciplinary evaluation (CMDE), which is the tool used to diagnose and evaluate a person for potential Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) services.
  • An overview of the individualized treatment plan (ITP), which is a person-centered plan of care created using the information gathered in the person’s CMDE. It specifies the type and amount of medically necessary services the person will receive.
  • Step-by-step instructions to complete the CMDE and ITP.
  • Strategies to gather information.

Learning objectives

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify the necessary components to include in the CMDE and ITP.
  • Analyze and summarize information gathered from assessments and observations to complete a comprehensive evaluation.
  • Prepare a person-centered and individualized treatment plan that responds to the person and their parent/guardian’s identified strengths, needs, interests, preferences and desired outcomes and respects the person’s history, values and background.

All interested parties, including:

  • Current and prospective EIDBI providers (e.g., CMDE providers, qualified supervising professionals, any providers who help complete the CMDE or ITP).
  • Lead agencies.
  • Tribal nations.
  • Managed care organizations.
