Procedures for priority placements

Local court	Signs and issues a written order	Two business days
Local worker in sending state	Compiles and submits the ICPC referral to DHS.	Three business days
DHS Compact Administrator	Forwards the ICPC referral to the receiving states ICPC office	Two business days from receipt of referral.
ICPC office in receiving state to render expedited placement decision	Forwards the ICPC referral to their local office.	No later than 20 business days from the date the forms and materials were received
ICPC office in receiving state to forward request to local	Completes the Priority Home Study	No later than two business days after receipt of completed packet..
ICPC office in receiving state	Notifies the ICPC office in the sending state of the decision to place or not place a child with proposed caretaker	No later than three business days of receipt of the home study and no later than 20 days after the receipt of the request.
