METS Training Region

Revised: July 24, 2026

This page contains information about the METS training region.

How to Request Access

Access to the METS training region, also known as METS TRNG, is requested by local agency security liaisons for staff at county or DHS agencies. Individual logins can be requested through the DHS security ServiceNow IT Service Center (only available to authorized security liaisons).

Note: All agencies sending workers to METS Systems (MNSIAP550H) training must request METS TRNG region access for the worker by or before class registration cut-off (two Fridays before class starts). All Handling MN Information Securely courses must be completed along with the associated assessments before requesting access to the METS training region. Agency security liaisons can access the DHS Systems Security & Processes – Health Care document in the DHS SIR SSAM site for more information.

Security Issues

If a user’s password is suspended, users can utilize the LoginMN process for password recovery. In the event a user is unable to recover an account using LoginMN, an agency security liaison can submit a ticket through the state ServiceNow IT Service Center. In the request, include the METS TRNG region and the user’s email used for LoginMN.

Roles

Available Security Roles are:

Role

Abbreviation/Suffix

Case Worker Clerical

CL

Case Worker

CW

METS Supervisor

CWS

METS SuperUser

HCR

If multiple roles have been set up for a user, the role must be selected during the LoginMN process. LoginMN may cache the current role selection preventing selection of another role in the training region. To resolve this issue, either use incognito mode or clear the browser cache before logging back into the region.

Individual users are responsible for maintaining the login information. Logon-related issues should be reported to an agency’s security liaison.

The METS TRNG interfaces to the MMIS SKIL (CICSDVA) region. To see and update training cases interfaced to the METS training region, users should have the C7 role in the MMIS skills maintenance region.

Troubleshooting

If there are any issues related to the METS training region that are not related to security access, and the issue occurs outside of the scheduled unavailability times please email dhs.hc.trainersonline-questions@state.mn.us.

Availability

The METS training region is available for DHS, county, and tribal agency use for training purposes. This region is updated to match the latest production code after each production deployment. The production deploys for METS are scheduled quarterly throughout the year. Most quarterly deployments take about one business day to complete and resolve any issues. During quarterly deployment, the system is taken offline and not available for use.

The METS TRNG Region availability calendar is located here.
