EVV updates

DHS will reduce the range of the 'geofence' boundary for EVV in December

DHS will reduce the geofence range for devices used by EVV providers to 500 feet on Dec. 1, a change that was first announced in July. Geofencing creates a virtual geographical boundary that triggers an action to a mobile device when a user enters or exits that boundary, such as verifying a visit to a person who receives services.

Provider agencies that use third-party EVV systems have already been notified of the updated API specifications to allow for a “community” tag for visits outside the geofence range.

Provider agencies that use the state-selected system from HHAeXchange already have the option to select community visits when using the mobile application. No further action will be required for agencies that use HHAeXchange.

Posting of third-party EVV systems that have integrated with HHAeXchange

DHS updated DHS – EVV with a list of third-party EVV vendors that have integrated with HHAeXchange. You can find Minnesota third-party EVV systems list on the Minnesota EVV tab under the Third-party EVV system heading.

DHS developed this list using third-party systems reported to DHS. DHS will continue to update the list as needed as we move through the implementation of EVV.
