Training announcement: Elderly Waiver Foundations 1: Administration and Eligibility

Description

This 45-minute, self-paced online course introduces Elderly Waiver (EW) administration and program and financial eligibility. It includes an optional financial eligibility section with additional details and examples.

EW Foundations 1 is the first of three courses. We will announce EW Foundations 2 and 3 when they are available.

Learning objectives

After the training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe whom EW serves and the purpose of the program.
  • Summarize federal, state and lead agency roles to administer the program and assure its quality.
  • Explain EW eligibility criteria and enrollment processes, including basic financial eligibility.
  • Locate additional EW resources.

Target audience

People who work with home and community-based services for older adults, including:

  • Care coordinators.
  • Case managers.
  • Assessors.
  • Other interested parties.

Registration information

Register using TrainLink

You must have a unique key to register and receive credit for training. If you do not have a unique key, complete the Unique Key Request Form.

Steps

  • Go to the Older Adult Programs Learning Center in TrainLink.
  • Sign on in the upper-right corner.
  • Enter your unique key.
  • Select Course catalog search.
  • Search for “Elderly Waiver Foundations 1” or “AASD-EWF1.
  • Select the course from the search results.
  • Select Start course.
