Direct support professionals survey

DHS is conducting a short, voluntary survey about the HCBS direct support labor market. We want to better understand Minnesota’s direct care workforce, including wages, benefits, size and scope. We will report the survey findings to the legislature in early 2026.

Survey details

Use the following information to complete the survey:

· Survey deadline: 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025

· How to participate: To complete the survey, refer to DHS – HCBS direct support labor market survey 2025.

· Instructions: Complete the survey once. The survey will take about five minutes to complete.

Direct support professionals are known as home health nurses, personal care assistants, nursing home aides and dozens of other titles. It can be challenging for state agencies to track and support this vital labor market. If someone you know does this kind of work, please share the survey with them.
