Mentor Program
SSIS Mobile Project
Project Overview
SSIS has been exploring additional ways to help support the work being done with children and families in Minnesota. A SSIS app is one method being developed to support public child welfare workers’ in their active engagement with the children and families they serve by increasing productivity through technology and decrease paperwork and inefficiencies. This will not replace the SSIS program, but will allow limited functionality in the field.
Pilot consists of 6-8 users from each identified agency; Morrison, St. Louis, Stearns, and Southwest Health and Human Services (SWHHS).
mCase App
The custom mobile application (app) currently in development by SSIS and RedMane Technology is called mCase. This app is a powerful tool for completing necessary case functions in the field on a mobile device (iOS devices are currently supported). This software app allows for quickly navigating and recording case information accurately without the limitations of a paper-based field system without the limitation of internet connectivity
The login screen serves as your starting screen upon launching of the mCase App. This screen will also serve as the method for transmitting and receiving changed case data. Once the app opens the dashboard displays. From here workers can access various functions, including “My Workgroup”, “My Activities”, “My Case Notes”, and a “Call for Help” button. Workers will be able to check workgroups “out” and “in” from SSIS. Workers will be able to enter Contacts/Activities, work on service plans, and work on SDM Tools. Then workers will be able to sync the data from the iPad back to their SSIS database.
