16.24 Types of Child Care Settings

The child care assistance program will pay for care at 4 types of child care settings.
Type of Provider | Description |
Licensed Center.
| A center licensed by Minnesota, another state or a Tribal Nation. |
Licensed Family Child Care Provider. | A family child care provider licensed by Minnesota, another state or a Tribal Nation. |
Certified License-Exempt Center. | A center that is exempt from being licensed. Are certified by the State of MN and verified the center meets federal requirements for receiving CCAP.

Legal Non-Licensed Provider. | Typically family, friends, or neighbors. Registered with the State of MN. Be a person who provides care legally - cares only for children related to them or provides care to children from a single, unrelated family.
