Technical Information for Health Care Online Learning
These technical settings are recommended for Health Care online courses. Trainlink is tested on major browsers and operating systems. Many efforts, including code validation, were made to make this site accessible by a wide range of browsers, including screen readers.
Tips
- Verify all of your pop-up blockers are turned off as it is possible that more than one pop-up blocker is enabled.
- Add http://pathlore.dhs.state.mn.us/ as a trusted site under the internet options, security tab, trusted sites.
- Some agencies have firewall protection systems in place; contact your agencies Help Desk for assistance.
- Please be patient. Internet speed may affect how quickly information is loaded.
- Some training content requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. It may be downloaded and installed for free from the Adobe website.
- Confirm you are using supported browser and version. The following browsers and versions are supported:
- Internet Explorer (IE) – version 11
- Google Chrome – 60 or later
- Mozilla Firefox – version 44 or later
- JAWS – version 17. JAWS is supported when used with IE and the Flash plugin.
- Safari. Although not officially supported, most of our courses should work well with Safari.
How do I know which browser I am using?

Pop-up Blockers
Health Care online courses deliver content in pop-up windows. If your computer currently has a pop-up blocker enabled, you need to allow pop-ups and disable the blocker for DHS online training. These instructions are specific to Internet Explorer.
- Open your Internet Browser.
- Highlight and copy the web address from the browser bar.
- Left click on “Tools”.
- Left click on “Internet Options”.
- Left click on the “Privacy” tab.
- Left click on “Settings”.
- Past the address in the address bar.
- Add and Close.
- Click the check box to disable the pop-up blocker.
- Click Apply.
- Click OK.
For all other browsers, please follow the directions in the Help section of your web browser to allow pop-ups on specific pages.
Monitor Screen Resolution Requirements
For the best possible user experience, we recommend monitor screen resolution to be at least 1024 by 768 pixels. For Windows operating system, please follow these steps:
- Right click on your desktop.
- Left click on “Properties”.
- Left click on “Settings”.
- Make sure your “Screen area” is set to 1024 by 768 pixels.
- Left click “Apply” if available.
- Left click “OK”.
