Webinar announcement: Culture of Safety Orientation

Description

This webinar will cover the human factors and safety science principles that are vital to analyze critical incidents and inform decision-making. It also will explain how and why DHS uses this incident review model to study the disability services system. For more information, refer to DHS – Culture of Safety critical incident review.

Note: DHS offers the Culture of Satefy Orientation twice a year. This training will cover the same information as previous Culture of Safety Orientations.

Learning objectives

After the training, participants will be able to:

  • Define safety science principles.
  • Describe and compare old and new views of safety.
  • Describe how Minnesota uses the incident review model to improve the disability service system.
  • Use the safety science principles to inform their work.

Target audience

Lead agencies, tribal agencies, providers and other interested parties

Steps

  • Go to TrainLink.
  • Under “Learning Centers,” select Disability Services.
  • Sign on in the upper-right corner.
  • Enter your unique key.
  • Select Upcoming webinars/Live training.
  • Select All DSD classes.
  • Search “culture of safety or “DSD602
  • Select a session
  • Select Enroll in this class in the upper right and follow the registration instructions.
