Purpose: To announce a new email subscription (eList) for direct care professionals

New direct care professionals email subscription list

DHS created a new email subscription for direct care professional news announcements from DHS and other state agency partners.

How to subscribe

To subscribe, refer to either of the following options:

· CBSM – DSD eLists – Direct care professional eList.

· DHS – Email updates.
Note: If this is your first time using the DHS email updates system, you can subscribe to multiple topics. Select the box for “Direct care professional eList” under subscription topics.

You can unsubscribe at any time.

What to expect

DHS plans to email the direct care professional eList up to four times per month. We will share information about direct care careers in Minnesota, such as:

· Resources.

· Event announcements.

· Legislative or other changes that impact direct care professionals.

· Opportunities to give feedback to state departments.

Target audience

DHS created the direct care professional eList for all professionals and family caregivers who provide direct care or support for people receiving disability, aging or behavioral health services.

These professionals use many job titles. Some common titles include:

· Direct support professional/worker.

· Direct care professional/worker.

· Personal care assistant/aide.

· Rehabilitation worker.

· Community First Services and Supports (CFSS) worker.

· Behavioral or mental health aide.

· Home health aide.

· Certified nursing assistant/aide.

· Employment supports worker.

· Hospice worker.

· Shelter worker.

More information about direct care

Direct care or support means help with things like:

· Eating or meal preparation.

· Bathing.

· Transportation.

· Managing bills or other paperwork.

· Housework.

· Job support.

· Learning new skills.

· Managing behavioral or cognitive challenges.

· Taking medications.
