Diversionary Work Program & Minnesota Family Investment Program for Providers
Minnesota’s economic support programs help families and individuals work toward economic stability. The Diversionary Work Program (DWP) is a four-month program that helps low-income Minnesota families find a job. When families first apply for cash assistance, most will participate in DWP. The Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) is the state’s primary program for helping low-income families with children move out of poverty through work.
Announcements
NOITS Pilot
Beginning June 30th, 2023 and lasting approximately 9 months, the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) will be piloting a new version of the DHS-3175, Notice of Intent to Sanction (NOITS). The new piloted version will be generated in Workforce One for cases with an EVEN Record ID Number. Cases with an ODD Record ID Number will continue to generate the current version of the NOITS. There are no changes to policy or to how the NOITS is completed within Workforce One. The PDF version of the new NOITS is available for review. The pilot NOITS will not be available in eDocs until or unless permanent revisions are made to this form. The pilot will be used to gather data about how to further improve the NOITS and to determine areas where additional training resources may be needed.
Note: The Record ID Number in Workforce One is different from a MAXIS case number. This number is exclusively used within Workforce One and is unique to each individual person record.
If you have any questions about this pilot, please contact Kayla.Merrill@state.mn.us.

A new required annual course for all staff working in MFIP/DWP is available in TrainLink: Understanding Domestic Abuse, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sexual Harassment (Course code: TES200). Please complete the course by Dec. 31, 2023 and yearly afterwards.
EAESD GovDelivery email list
Subscribe to the EAESD GovDelivery email list.
County and Tribal Nation supervisors and directors are encouraged to subscribe to the Economic Assistance and Employment Supports Division (EAESD) GovDelivery email list.
EAESD will only send email announcements to County and Tribal Nation supervisors and directors who are subscribed to the EAESD GovDelivery email list. Email announcements include updates, memos, grant opportunities and more for MFIP, DWP, SNAP, and Refugee Resettlement programs.
The email list will create a better way of maintaining emails and to ensure the correct county and Tribal Nation staff are reached. New staff will be responsible subscribing to the email list and will not be automatically subscribed. A recommendation for this email list is to add a step to subscribe as part of the onboarding process.
Note: This email list is different from the employment services newsletter subscription that can be found on the ES Countylink webpage.
