IMPROPER TRANSFERS - ONSET OF INELIGIBILITY

ISSUE DATE: 03/2026

MFIP, GA:
Deny or terminate the case when the unit refuses to take steps to recover or obtain adequate compensation for a transferred asset.


SNAP:
Only non-categorically eligible SNAP units ARE subject to an asset test. Categorically eligible SNAP units are NOT subject to an asset test. See 0013.06 (SNAP Categorical Eligibility/Ineligibility) to determine categorical eligibility or ineligibility.

For non-categorically eligible SNAP units, see 0015.81 (Assets - SNAP) for the SNAP asset policies, including transferred assets.


MSA:
No provisions.


HSP:
Follow MSA for aged, blind, or disabled clients. Follow GA for all other adults.
