Revised: May 9, 2023

Overview

The Managed Care Organization (MCO) Home page is the landing page where you, as a managed care organization staff member, can view registration requests you have submitted via the Minnesota Provider Screening and Enrollment (MPSE) portal for an organization or individual provider.

Steps to log in to MPSE:

  • 1. Log in to MNITS- with your MCO username.
  • 2. Click the link for the Minnesota Provider Screening and Enrollment (MPSE) Portal in the left-side navigation. (If you do not see the link, contact your MN-ITS administrator.) This opens the MCO Home page in MPSE.
  • On the MCO Home page, you can:

  • · View provider information.
  • · Click Search For MHCP Provider to search for providers in the portal.
  • · Click one of the available options located in the Request Actions column to review or make changes to an existing request.
  • · Use the Manage Completed Requests page to see the outcome or status of requests your organization submitted.
  • · View Returned Requests for requests submitted by your organization that Provider Eligibility and Compliance sent back for additional information.
  • · In the Managed Care Organization Requests section, view the requests submitted by your organization.
  • Managed Care Organization Requests Section Descriptions:

    Submit Date

The date you submitted the request.

    Status/Outcome

Once you have created a request, you can track the status of the request until Provider Eligibility and Compliance completes it. On the MCO Home page, you will see the statuses: Draft, Draft Returned, Pending Review and In Review.

    Draft
When you first create a request, it is in Draft status. The request remains in Draft status until you submit it for approval. When you create a request, you need to complete it all at once. If you do not enter the required information in all fields and click Submit, MPSE will not save your information. Save a request by clicking Submit at the bottom of the page. You can use Delete to remove the request if you do not need it.

    Draft Returned
If you previously submitted a request that showed a Pending Review or In Review status, that now has a status of Draft Returned, review the notes in the request by clicking View Notes under the Request Actions column. Provider Eligibility and Compliance will place requests in Draft Returned status when they need more information before they can approve the request.

    Pending Review
Once you submit a request for approval, the status of that request is Pending Review. This means that you successfully submitted the request, but Provider Eligibility and Compliance has not reviewed it. While a request is in Pending Review status, the user who created and submitted the request can click the user action Revert to Draft, which puts the request back into Draft status. You can only make edits or delete the request when it is in Draft status. Use this option instead of making a second request if you missed something in the request, or if you would like to add additional information to the request.

    In Review
Provider Eligibility and Compliance is currently reviewing a request that is In Review status. The request status will change from Pending Review to In Review the moment Provider Eligibility and Compliance begins to review the request.

    Request Actions

In this column, the list of actions that you can take on a request will display. The actions that display are different based on the user role of the person submitting the request and the status of the request.

    View Request

Click View Request to review the request listed in that row. You will be able to view the content for that page within the request but will not be able to make changes.

    Summary Report

Click Summary Report to view and print a summary report of a profile. The summary report contains detailed information that reflects the current MHCP record and provides the profile in the form of a document that you can print and file for future reference.

    View Differences Report

Click View Differences Report to review a report of how your requested changes will change your current profile if they are completed. The differences report will show you a side-by-side comparison of your current profile and your future profile, which will include your requested changes.

    View Notes

Provider Eligibility and Compliance will add notes when they need more information before they can approve a request. The View Notes option will only appear if Provider Eligibility and Compliance needs to communicate about the request.

    Edit

Click Edit to make changes to your request.

    Delete

Click Delete to delete your request.

    Revert to Draft

Click Revert to Draft to return the request to draft mode. This allows you to edit or delete your request. You can only revert a request to draft mode if the request is in the Pending Review status.

You have the option to revert your request to a draft after you have submitted your request for approval, but before Provider Eligibility and Compliance has started to review your request. Reverting your request to a draft enables the Edit or Delete option on your request. However, once Provider Eligibility and Compliance begins to review your request, you will no longer be able to revert that request to a draft to make changes.

    Assign To Self

Click Assign To Self in the Request Actions column to retrieve the portfolio request that another user entered and needs to be completed. The page will refresh and will show you as the assigned requester.

    Navigation

To navigate through the MPSE portal, use the right-side navigation bar to click on the link for the page you want to access. Using the right-side navigation bar is a fast way to view or go to a specific page within the MPSE portal.
