DEFERRED ACTION FOR CHILDHOOD ARRIVALS (DACA)

ISSUE DATE: 03/2026

An immigration official agrees not to take action on a case for a certain amount of time for a person who came to the United States as a child and meets several guidelines.  That person is allowed to live and work in the United States for the amount of time granted by the immigration official.

People with DACA AND a valid Employment Authorization Document are eligible for benefits.

Eligibility

  • MFIP (state-funded cash and food)
  • SNAP if age 50 or over (state-funded food)
  • GA

  • Employment Authorization Document
  • Form I-797 Notice of Action granting approval of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
