New online navigation tool for early intervention autism spectrum disorder (ASD) services and supports
The services and supports people access depends on the person, their current needs and preferences. A new online autism services navigation tool is available for case managers, social workers and other professionals to help them make accurate and appropriate referrals to early intervention services and supports based on the needs of the child and family.
Background
There are many different eligibility requirements and access points for different services and supports. It can be challenging for early intervention referral sources and support planners to determine which services will best meet the needs of the child and build off their strengths.
Lead agencies, educators, clinicians, providers and other referral sources can use the tool when working with families. The tool does not replace the need for formal assessments and evaluations. Instead, it will help people connect to the right services at the right time. It is meant to be referred back to as the child ages or their needs change.
You can find this new tool on the MN Autism Resource Portal.
