Purpose: To provide an update about the new training for disability waiver case managers

Disability waiver case manager employment training update

DHS is monitoring total statewide enrollment and completion progress for the new disability waiver case manager employment training.

As of June 4, 2024:

  • · 1,606 case managers enrolled in the course.
  • · 1,139 case managers completed the course.
  • · Only 565 case managers received credit for training completion.
  • Reminder: Training completion credit

    After case managers complete the training, they must return to TrainLink and enter their completion code. Case managers will not get credit for training completion if they do not enter their completion code in TrainLink.

    Registration

    Disability waiver case managers who have not completed the training must use the following information to complete the training:

  • · Registration available: June 8-July 19.
  • · Registration instructions: To register, use the instructions on DHS – Self-paced online course: Getting to Work: A Case Manager’s Guide to Supporting Employment.
  • · Course available: June 24-Aug. 2.
  • Completion deadline

    All disability waiver case managers must complete this training by Aug. 1, 2024. Case managers hired after Aug. 1, 2024, must complete the training during their first six months of employment.
