Purpose: To announce a 30-day public comment period for amendments to the Elderly Waiver (EW) plan before submission to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Comment period begins: 8 a.m., Friday, Aug. 14, 2026
Comment period ends: 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026

DHS requests public comments on EW plan amendments
DHS requests public comments on fall 2026 EW plan amendments before we submit them to CMS for approval.
DHS will publish the text of all public comments received during the open public comment period on the DHS website, as required under Minn. Stat. §256B.04, subd. 24.

Process to submit comments
Email comments to AASD.Publiccomments@state.mn.us no later than 4 p.m, Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026.

Additional directions for counties, Tribal Nations and managed care organizations
To ensure equitable access to the public comment period and comply with 42 C.F.R. § 441.304(f), counties, Tribal Nations and managed care organizations must print a copy of fall 2026 EW amendment comment period flyer (PDF) and post it prominently in offices open to the public.
