MHCP Enrollment

Tribal Certified professionals

  • · Tribal entity may credential an individual according to Minnesota Statutes 256B.02, subdivision 7 (b)(c)
  • Enrollment with Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP)

    Licensed Psychologist (LP)

  • · Licensed under Minnesota Statutes 148.88-148.98
  • · Follow Minnesota Board of Psychology requirements
  • Licensed Psychologist Enrollment Criteria & Forms

    Neuropsychology
    (LP Sub-specialty)

  • · Review Minnesota Statutes 256B.0671, subdivision 8 (d) for all requirements
  • · Licensed Psychologist according to Minnesota Statutes 148.88 - 148.98; and has diplomat status from either the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology, or American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology.

    Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)

  • · Licensed by examination; refer to Minnesota Statutes 148E.055, Minnesota Statutes 148E.010, Minnesota Statutes 148E.100 and Minnesota Statutes 148E.125
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) Enrollment Criteria & Forms

    Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)

  • · Licensed under Minnesota Statutes 148B.5301
  • · 4,000 hours post-master’s supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the treatment of mental disorders or emotional disturbance
  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Enrollment Criteria & Forms

    Psychiatrist or Otheopathic physician

  • · Licensed physician under Minnesota Statutes 147
  • · Certified by American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, or
  • · A Dr. of Osteopathy licensed under the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry or eligible for certification by psychiatric board
  • Physicians completing an internship or residency in psychiatry must be a board-certified physician in psychiatry or eligible for certification.

    Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

  • · Licensed under Minnesota Statutes 148B.29-148B.39

    Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP)

  • · Advanced practice registered nurse licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing under Minnesota Statutes 148.171-148.285
  • · Certified nurse practitioner in psychiatric or mental health from an organization acceptable to the board
  • Nurse Practitioner Enrollment Criteria & Forms

    Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS)

  • · Advanced practice registered nurse licensed by the Minnesota Board of Nursing under Minnesota Statutes 148.171-148.285
  • · Certified clinical nurse specialist in psychiatric or mental health from a certification organization acceptable to the board
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Enrollment Criteria & Forms

    Certified Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist

    Notes:
    May provide mental health services only within ARMHS, IRTS, ACT agencies

    May provide treatment supervision only to mental health practitioner, certified peer specialist, rehabilitation worker

  • · Current valid national certification as a certified rehabilitation counselor or certified psychosocial rehabilitation practitioner
  • · Master’s or doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in behavior science or related field
  • · At least 4,000 hours post-master’s supervised experience in the delivery of clinical services in the treatment of mental illness

    Out-of-state provider requirements:
    Out-of-state providers may be required to submit a current license from the state board of their current state of practice and meet the Minnesota Board’s enrollment criteria.
