EIDBI legislative updates
The Minnesota Legislature made updates during the 2024 legislative session that impact EIDBI providers, including:
Emergency relief grants for rural EIDBI providers
DHS will distribute and administer emergency relief grants for rural EIDBI providers:

EIDBI level I provider qualifications
Effective Aug. 1, 2024, a person has additional options to meet a level I provider requirement:

BCBA licensure
Effective Jan. 1, 2025, all BCBAs who work within the EIDBI program must have a license in Minnesota. Minnesota is the 38th state to license Applied Behavior Analysis.
Note: The qualified supervising professional (QSP) requirements for EIDBI services remain the same. The BCBA licensure requirement did not automatically add BCBAs to the list of licensed mental health professionals who are qualified to be QSPs in Minn. Stat. §245I.04, subd. 2.
