Purpose: To announce the Project Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes (Project ECHO) training series on targeted, individualized and intensive positive supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Register for Project ECHO series

Registration is open for the Project ECHO eight-session pilot series, “Targeted, Individualized and Intensive Positive Supports for Children and Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities,” presented by the TeleOutreach Center, University of Minnesota ICI and DHS.

This series supports providers, social workers and other professionals who support people with IDD who have complex or higher-level behavioral needs and receive support through targeted, individualized and intensive positive supports.

Each ECHO session includes:

  • · A brief instructional presentation.
  • · Discussion.
  • · Case-based learning between attendees and a hub team of interdisciplinary members from the University of Minnesota and DHS.
  • The hub team represents the following fields:

  • · Psychology.
  • · Psychiatry.
  • · Special education.
  • · Care coordination.
  • · Person-centered practices.
  • · Positive behavioral supports.
  • · Trauma-informed supports.
  • Training details and registration

    Use the following information to attend the training:

  • · Cost: Free
  • · Registration: Registration is required. To register, refer to University of Minnesota – Project ECHO.
  • · Capacity: To provide an optimal learning experience, registration will close at 100 registrants.
  • · Continuing education: CEUs are not offered for this training series.
  • · Time: Each session will occur from 12 to 1 p.m.

  • More information about Project ECHO

    Project ECHO follows an “all teach, all learn” model (i.e., there is a balance of learning from the interdisciplinary hub team and learning from joining attendees). The presenters encourage all attendees to come ready to participate and share de-identified cases for case-based learning discussions. Attendees who bring cases for review will have the opportunity for additional consultation from hub team members, if desired. For more information, refer to Project ECHO flyer.
