Eligibility Verification

Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) requires providers to verify member eligibility before providing health care services. The MN–ITS Direct Data Entry Eligibility Request feature allows providers to submit direct member eligibility verification requests and receive an immediate response.

MN–ITS Eligibility Request (270) allows providers to submit single or multiple requests (up to a maximum of 50 at a time) electronically. MN–ITS Eligibility Response (271) provides details about the member’s program (or prepaid health plan), other insurance and more. Refer to the Eligibility Requests and Responses under Billing Policy in the MHCP Provider Manual for details.
