Creating a Positioning Statement
To prepare for writing your positioning statement, carefully consider the answers to the following eight questions. Each one will help you focus on your specific niche.
- Who are you?
- What do you do?
- What is the specific need or problem of the market (community) you serve?
- How do you satisfy that need or solve that problem?
- Who is your preferred customer?
- What is your value to that customer?
- Who is your competition?
- What unique benefit sets you apart from the competition such that your desired customer will choose you?
