The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers and funds the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and requires that states operate an employment and training program for certain SNAP participants. Federal laws and regulations specify the basic structure of the program, the people to be served, the scope of program services, and the programs’ relationship to other public assistance programs.
The program operates under Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 7, Section 273.7 and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 7, Section 273.24.
