This section of the cost report allows the cost report preparer to provide commentary and additional explanations about each section.

Although this section is optional, DHS encourages all cost report preparers to use this section to report additional, contextual information about the previous sections, especially when the information will help with DHS’ review and understanding of the reported information. The details the cost report preparer provides on this section may reduce the need for DHS to follow up and request supplemental information and supporting records.
