Update to the new process to determine eating-related ADL dependencies for children

In a Sept. 1, 2017, eList, DHS said lead agencies should notify DHS when there is a case-mix change for certain children who use CDCS.

In fact, that process should be used for all children who meet the following criteria, whether they use CDCS or not.

Criteria

The new process would apply when the child:

  • · Experiences a case-mix change as result of needing constant supervision and/or assistance in setting up meals, (i.e., cutting meat, pouring fluids, etc)
  • · Uses the BI, CAC or CADI waiver
  • · Is between 61 months and 18 years old
  • · Was assessed using either the MnCHOICES Assessment tool or the LTCC legacy assessment forms.
  • DHS has updated the previous eList to note this change.
