Overview

The Disability Services Division (DSD) sends announcements via email to two subscriber lists:

  • • Lead agency eList
  • • Stakeholder eList.
  • You may subscribe to one or both of the eLists using your email address. There is no fee to sign up. DSD will not use your email address for any other purpose. If you unsubscribe, DSD will delete your email address from the eList.

    Announcements only

Each eList is for announcements only. Do not reply to emails you receive from either eList. DSD will not read or forward your response.

If you want to contact someone about information in the announcement, use the contact information provided.

    General guidelines

All content DSD sends to both eLists follows these guidelines:

  • • Content goes through a DSD approval process.
  • • Content relates directly to DHS business.
  • • DHS communication policies apply to all content.
  • • External users cannot send content to either eList.
  • Lead agency eList

The lead agency eList is a resource for counties, tribes and managed care organizations. DSD uses this eList to notify lead agencies of:

  • • Federal and state policy changes
  • • Public comment periods
  • • Training opportunities
  • • Updates to our policy manuals (e.g., Community-Based Services Manual, Rates Management System User Manual, etc.)
  • • Updates from other DHS divisions, state agencies and community partners that are relevant to DSD’s work.
  • DSD encourages all lead agency staff to subscribe to this eList.

    Stakeholder eList

The stakeholder eList is a resource for anyone who is interested in DSD’s services and programs. DSD sends most announcements that go to the lead agency eList to the stakeholder eList, as well.

We may not share an announcement with the stakeholder eList if it’s specifically for lead agency staff (e.g., DHS system outages).

    Archives

DSD archives announcements sent in the last two years on:

    Terminology

The terminology used to describe people with developmental disabilities has changed over time. While DHS supports the use of “people first” language within its documents, you might find certain outdated terms within historical and official documents, such as statutes, reports and third-party material.

    Bounce backs

If your server marks a message as “permanently undeliverable” to your inbox, our system will remove your email address from our eLists.

If your server notifies us that your inbox is temporarily unavailable, our system will try to redeliver the message until either:

  • • The message is delivered
  • • Your server marks the message as “permanently undeliverable,” at which time it will remove your email address from our eLists.
  • Prevent emails from being marked “spam” or “junk”

    To ensure you receive announcements:

  • • Add DSD.EList@public.govdelivery.com to your contact list
  • • Follow any additional instructions from your email provider about how to prevent emails from being marked “spam” or “junk mail.”
