DHS developed training videos to help new and current users navigate and understand the Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) and the Rate Management System (RMS).

How to watch

You can either:

  • · Select the course links in the DWRS courses section to watch them directly.
  • · Use the following process to gain TrainLink credit.
  • Gain TrainLink credit

    Users can watch the videos on TrainLink for credit by following this process:

    1. Go to TrainLink.
    2. Select sign on in the upper right corner.
    3. Use your unique key to sign on. (If you do not have a unique key, refer to TrainLink – Unique key request.)
    4. Select course catalog.
    5. Enter DWRS in the search field.
    6. Select your desired course.
    7. Select start course in the upper left corner.
    8. Close the video window when you finish watching it.

    Description: This module explains how to determine shared and individual staffing hours for residential services and how to use DHS-6910 as an aid in determining residential staffing hours.

    2. How to determine staff hours for residential services for individuals who are regularly home during the weekday

    Description: This module explains how to use the planned weekday daytime staff hours business rules worksheet (situations where multiple people in the home, but not all, are regularly home during the weekday).

    3. How to determine incidental weekday daytime staffing hours

    Description: This module explains how to use the incidental weekday daytime staff hours business rules worksheet (calculation for the projected number of hours a person is unexpectedly at home and additional direct care staff are brought in to care for the person’s needs).

    4. How to determine staffing ratios for day services

    Description: This module explains how to determine staffing ratios for day services and how to use the day services worksheet as an aide in determining day staffing hours.
