9.1.7 Authorizing Care-Combinations of Activities

Do not authorize more than 120 hours of care per child every two weeks.
Combinations of activities in an approved Employment Plan
Authorize hours needed to support an approved MFIP Employment Plan. The Child Care Assistance Program does not have a minimum wage or hours per week requirement for employment activities that are in an approved MFIP Employment Plan.
Authorizing education and employment outside of an employment plan
Students are not required to work.
When BSF, TY, TYE or MFIP participants whose employment hours are not included in an approved Employment Plan are full-time students and request child care for their employment activity:

Job search
Do not authorize job search hours in combination with other activities outside of an Employment Plan. Only authorize job search at application and redetermination or when included in an Employment Plan
