Press function key F9 to activate the exception control function in the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) after completing required fields. MMIS compares data just entered with data stored in MMIS and posts exception codes that apply in the EXC fields. MMIS also auto populates additional fields such as the description associated with a valid value (code) entered in a field.

Exception codes with a status of 3 or 4 must be resolved. Read exception code text to assist with resolving errors. After resolving an exception, press function key F9 again to clear exception code.

MMIS changes LTC header status to A (APPROVED) when no edits post. Review the screening document for accuracy before exiting. Press function key F3 to save the document and exit to the ASCR panel.
