Overview

There are resources about CDCS for lead agency staff (counties, tribal nations and managed care organizations), people self-directing their services through CDCS and people interested in selecting this service option.

CDCS policy

The following resources provide guidance for CDCS policy:

  • · Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) Policy Manual: This manual is the primary source for CDCS policy and is a reference for lead agencies, fiscal agents, CDCS support planners and people who use CDCS.
  • · CDCS Lead Agency Operations Manual, DHS-4270 (PDF): DHS is in the process of reviewing the information in this manual and transferring it to the CDCS Policy Manual. DHS-4270 will remain live until this process is complete.
  • · DHS – CDCS: This page gives an overview of CDCS and provides contact information for questions and assistance.

    Online learning modules

For people who receive services and families interested in CDCS

DHS designed CDCS: Is it right for you? for people who receive services and families interested in learning how to self-direct their services through CDCS. The information in this course is intended to help people on waivers or Alternative Care (AC) understand this service option and decide whether CDCS is right for them.

DHS recommends lead agency staff provide this learning module to people on waivers or AC interested in selecting CDCS. Lead agency staff can also provide this learning module to people who currently use CDCS as an information resource.

    For lead agency staff

DHS offers a CDCS course that is an introduction and continuing resource for lead agency staff. The content includes:

  • · CDCS roles and responsibilities.
  • · Covered and non-covered services.
  • · CDCS service categories.
