DWRS Cost Reporting Manual and online resources

DHS published new resources for DWRS cost reporting, including:

  • · DWRS Cost Reporting Tool Instruction Manual
  • · Background information and reporting timeline on the DWRS cost reporting main page
  • · Downloadable, excel based cost reporting workbook (.xls) to help providers plan and do offline work
  • · Time-study worksheet, DHS-7190 (PDF) to help providers track staff members’ working hours
  • · Frequently asked questions about DWRS cost reporting.

    • These resources will help DWRS providers understand the new cost reporting requirement that was authorized by the 2017 Minnesota Legislature.

    Cost reporting begins in March 2021, which is the first year in a five-year reporting cycle. All agencies that provide at least one service with a payment rate determined under the DWRS must submit documentation periodically about the costs of providing DWRS services.

    DHS will notify providers by March 31 if they are required to report this year.
