Electronic visit verification survey

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is surveying providers of personal care assistance, home health services and home and community-based services to learn more about their existing use of electronic visit verification (EVV) in Minnesota.

Background

The 21st Century Cures Act requires states to electronically verify personal care services, including home and community-based services that provide support for activities of daily living or instrumental activities of daily living. DHS is implementing a hybrid EVV model in which providers may use either the state-provided EVV system or an alternative system of their choosing that meets state requirements. DHS does not expect providers to implement EVV until after a state-selected verification system is made available for their use. DHS is in the process of selecting an EVV vendor following the publication of the request for proposals on Nov. 2, 2020. Once the contract with the selected EVV vendor is finalized, DHS will provide information to providers well in advance of a date by which they are expected to implement EVV so they can make an informed decisions.

Survey

The survey asks about current use of electronic visit verification by providers. The survey results will help DHS and the state-selected vendor to gain an understanding of what systems providers currently have in place and which providers will want to use the state-selected system. Your responses are important to help the state-selected vendor to understand which other EVV systems will submit data to the state-selected system. The link to the survey will be sent to your MN-ITS mailbox and can be accessed using your 10-digit provider identification number. The survey should only take about 10 minutes to complete.
