DHS offers free training for supported employment services providers
The Minnesota Department of Human Services’ Moving Home Minnesota initiative will offer free web-based training to employment service providers who serve people with disabilities. This 12-week training will train 25 people to deliver high-quality employment services to people with disabilities. DHS invites applications from employment specialists, job developers, job coaches and anyone who would like to add to their knowledge and skills to provide supported employment services.
Training begins in May and requires approximately 40 to 50 hours to complete the mix of online courses, live webinars and field assignments. Courses include:
DHS will award the ACRE Basic National Certificate of Achievement in Employment Services to trainees who successfully complete all 11 courses, webinars and fieldwork assignments.

DHS will give priority to applicants who:
Commitments
Trainees must commit to:
· Completion of training in the 12-week time frame
· Provide supported employment services to MHM participants
· Attend all required webinars delivered on:
o May 9, 2017 8:30-10 CST
o June 6, 2017 8:30-10 CST
o July 11, 2017 8:30-10 CST
