COVID-19 modifications to adult day services licensing requirements

DHS released new modifications to adult day services licensing requirements for adult day centers that continue to operate during the peacetime emergency. Until further notice, providers of adult day services should:

  • · Ensure informed choice for people who receive services about whether to continue to access facility-based adult day services
  • · Follow new Minnesota Department of Health Guidance, Information for adult day centers and day service facilities with a confirmed case of COVID-19 (PDF), for responding to a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the setting
  • · Update COVID-19 preparedness plans to include policies for responding to confirmed COVID-19 cases and temporary voluntary facility closure.
  • For full details on the new adult day services licensing modifications and guidance for providers, see the Amended licensing requirements for adult day centers (PDF).

Note: This guidance does not apply to day training and habilitation, prevocational or structured day services.
