In an effort to ensure compliance with department policies, DHS would like to remind interested parties of the following: Effective July 1, 2010, DHS implemented authorization and rate maximums for the following services across the disability waiver programs to promote consistency and ease of management under the authority of 42 CFR 431.10(e).

The authorization maximums for environmental accessibility adaptations and specialized supplies and equipment are per person per year (i.e. 365 days), regardless of whether the person changes waiver types.

* The transportation rate maximum for commercial and non-commercial vehicles is set at the federal mileage rate. While the HCPC code for these two rates are the same, the type of transportation provided, commercial or non-commercial, should be specified in the individual's service agreement.
