DHS is providing updates related to the implementation of home and community-based waiver and AC program provider standards:
New provider resource
The New HCBS Waiver and Alternative Care provider enrollment resource page provides links to resources and step-by-step instruction for Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) enrollment and 245D licensure. A link to the page can be found under “Additional resources” in the HCBS waiver/AC service provider enrollment and standards page of the Community Based Services Manual (CBSM).
Waiver provider 101 training
DHS launched Module 6, “Business operations” of the Online Waiver and Alternative Care Provider Training 101 training.
Providers who successfully completed Waiver 101 beginning Jan. 1, 2014, do not need to retake the test.
Homemaker/Cleaning
The Homemaker service page in the Community Based Services Manual (CBSM) was updated to clarify the definition of homemaker/cleaning to include assistance with laundry, in addition to general cleaning activities.
Homemaker service authorization
If a provider is providing:
Homemaker provider enrollment records
Provider records that currently reflect credentials for homemaker/home management (S5130/S5131 TF) and homemaker/assistance with ADL’s (S5130/S5131 TG) were auto coded with the DA (DHS approved). If the county or tribe updates the service authorization because a provider only is providing homemaker/cleaning (including assistance with laundry), the providers' credentials should align.
Because of this auto coding, the county or tribe should not see issues with the 413 edit when they update service authorizations to reflect the appropriate services of homemaker cleaning including assistance with laundry. This is because the provider should have necessary specialty and license codes on their record to provide homemaker/cleaning. If the 413 edit posts, the county or tribe must instruct the provider to contact the MHCP Provider Call Center.
