December update to DWRS services
DHS will update several Disability Waiver Rate System (DWRS) services within the MnCHOICES Support Plan application on Dec. 14, 2022. These changes will affect rate calculations for services that start on or after Jan. 1, 2023.
Changes to DWRS services
System updates will include the following changes:
Rate management system (RMS)
Updates to the RMS in the MnCHOICES Support Plan application include changes to some framework component values. For more information about specific component value updates, go to the Oct. 3, 2022, eList.
Integrated community supports (ICS)
Upon federal approval, ICS will be available on the Community Alternative Care (CAC) and Developmental Disabilities (DD) waivers. To prepare for this change, lead agencies can calculate ICS framework rates for people on the CAC and DD waivers in RMS within the MnCHOICES Support Plan. Chore services
For Brain Injury (BI), Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI), CAC and DD waivers, chore services that start on or after Jan. 1, 2023, will have two changes:

Calculation of DWRS services for 2023
Lead agencies must wait for the “all-clear” message from DHS that the Dec. 14, 2022, update is complete before they:
