    Subcommittee updates

    Psychotropic medication manual

After many years of meetings, drafting and editing with more than 40 authors, the guide is finally finished! An announcement about the manual will go out next week from the Disability Services Division.

  • · DHS Psychotropic Medication Manual home page (state.mn.us)
  • · The manual will be linked from this page: Partnerlink -- Manuals (state.mn.us)
  • · We will ask the Disability Services Division communications team if there is a way to print out the manual as a PDF.
  • Requests for approval subcommittee

This subcommittee closed this meeting early to review a new request for approval of mechanical restraint, as well as a renewal request.

    New resources for supporting communication

Melanie’s team provided additional recommendations on the drafts. An update will be shared at the committee’s April meeting.

    Discussion

    Annual recommendations

The committee is OK with continuing their 2023 goals into 2024 since they have not been completed and may take many years to fully implement. Victoria is leading the drafting of the committee’s annual report and will take a look at the goals and let us know if she suggests any phrasing updates.
